Friends Events

As the covid restrictions are eased we are beginning to plan new events.

At present, the main event is our Annual Summer Outing to churches where we are expertly guided and warmly welcomed. It is hoped that all Friends and family/friends of the Trust will be able to attend these events. Full details will be sent to Friends, who are warmly invited to make up parties to accompany them at both the AGM and the Summer Outing. If you are not a Friend of the Trust, but are interested in finding out more about the Trust’s work or are interested in attending future events please contact the Membership Secretary.

The 2021 programme is outlined below. As the membership grows, more events will be organised and we would appreciate suggestions from Friends.

Summer (autumn) Outing , Saturday 9th October, “Midsomer Murders” Meander NE Hampshire Revealed

We’re hoping Covid will have abated sufficiently to allow us to try again with last year’s plans; obviously, if there
are any concerns, we will postpone again. We do hope you can come.

Where do they find the names for the villages in Midsomer Murders? Could it be from villages partly named “Turgis”, “Wespall”, “… on Loddon”? Certainly the producers say the names are inspired by villages in Berkshire and NE Hampshire and could “Badger’s Drift” have anything to do with the local Beer?

Our outing will start at St Leonard’s, Sherfield on Lodden followed by lunch at the Jekyll and Hyde in Stratfield Turgis.
We will then visit two further churches – St Mary’s, Hartley Wespall and Mattingley Church where afternoon tea will be served.

Please download this flyer for further details and how to register for the event
